The RC Laser class is designed to replicate the performance and simplicity of the full-sized Laser dinghy, one of the world’s most popular one-design racing sailboats. The RC Laser was designed to be up and sailing out of the box in under 7 minutes. Unlike many RC sailboats that require complex rigging and tuning, the RC Laser is built for quick setup. , with an unstayed mast that slots into the deck and interchangeable sail rigs that adjust for varying wind conditions. It’s about 42 inches (1.06 m) long, lightweight, and highly durable, making it easy to transport and sail anywhere. Because it’s a strict one-design class, all RC Lasers are identical in hull shape and rig options, which makes racing fair and emphasizes sailing skill rather than equipment advantages. 

 The Dragon Flite 95 (DF 95) is a popular class designed for performance, accessibility, and ease of use. At 950 mm (about 37 inches) long, it strikes a balance between portability and competitive sailing. The boat features a lightweight, molded hull with a carbon fiber keel and a narrow beam for speed and agility, combined with a high-aspect carbon-fiber mast and Mylar sails that allow it to handle a wide range of wind conditions. Its design emphasizes strict one-design rules, meaning all DF95s are built to identical specifications, which keeps racing competitive and skill-based rather than equipment-based. Affordable and quick, the DF95 has become one of the fastest-growing RC sailboat classes worldwide, appealing to both beginners and seasoned racers. 

The little brother of the DF95, the Dragon Force 65 (DF 65) is a popular radio-controlled sailboat designed to provide high-performance racing in a compact and affordable package. Measuring 650 mm (about 25.6 inches) in length, it features a lightweight ABS molded hull, a carbon-fiber reinforced keel fin, and Mylar racing sails, all engineered to maximize speed and agility on the water. The class is strictly controlled under one-design rules, meaning all boats use the same hull, rig, and sails, which keeps the competition focused on sailing skill rather than equipment advantages. Easy to transport, assemble, and maintain, the DF65 has become one of the world’s most widely sailed RC yachts, offering accessibility for beginners while still delivering precise, competitive performance for experienced sailors. 

 The International One Meter (IOM) is the one of the world’s most popular class of radio-controlled racing sailboats, governed by a “box rule” that defines key limits while still allowing design freedom. Each boat must be exactly one meter long, with restrictions on displacement, keel depth, sail area, and the use of certain materials, but within these boundaries designers can experiment with hull shapes, construction methods, and tuning approaches. Typically built with fiberglass, wood, plastic or carbon fiber, IOMs are light, fast, and highly maneuverable. The class permits three standardized rigs to cover different wind conditions, ensuring competitive racing in both light airs and strong breezes. By balancing strict limits with room for innovation, the IOM has become the premier international RC sailing class, prized for its blend of accessibility, design challenge, and tactical racing.
